Matthias Veit

Matthias Veit accompanied numerous singers and instrumentalists in recital - amongst them artists like Franz Grundheber or Giora Feidman, Maite Beaumont, Angela Denoke, Christiane Iven, Konrad Jarnot, Michaela Kaune, Christina Landshamer, Markus Schäfer, Fatma Said, Michael Nagy, Michaela Schuster, Hanna Schwarz, Jorma Hynninen or Andreas Schmidt. He worked together with famous artists like Elly Ameling, Helen Donath, Brigitte Fassbaender, Silvia Geszty, Reri Grist, Felicity Lott, Edith Mathis, Cheryl Studer or Tom Krause in international masterclasses, including regular work at international festivals and renowned Institutes like the Schleswig Holstein Festival, the Bachakademie Stuttgart, the Savonlinna Music Academy. Beside soloistic performances he also performed vocal recitals as a singer (Schleswig-Holstein-Festival etc.). In 1995 founded a piano-duo together with Henning Lucius. In 1996 he gave his first master class in lied interpretation at the International Festival in Savonlinna / Finland followed by numerous invitations to International Festivals as well as official accompanist in International competitions like the ARD Munich. As a soloist and accompanist he has performed premieres of works by Babette Koblenz and György Ligeti.

1997-99 he has been named professor at the Hamburg Hochschule für Musik, since 1999 he was teaching at several Musikhochschul-Institutes in Germany as well as doing continuous radio-, TV- and CD-productions, amongst them several first releases (eg. the complete songs by Peter Cornelius at NAXOS) and world premiere recordings, the special program formation of the CD “Permance”(“Unvergänglichkeit”) with Michaela Schuster was also celebrated at its concert presentation at Wigmore Hall London. He works also as a painter, being awarded “artist of the year” 2016 by the Kulturstiftung Marienmünster (Germany). In 2022 his first book was publishes about new-phenomenological aspects in singing and piano-playing (“Der gespürte Ton”)
