The sound studio

The mobile technology in the hmt sound studio enables students to produce sound recordings of the quality customary at radio stations or in the music industry. Sound carriers are produced of

• Opera and theatre projects
• Recordings of selected, typical college concerts and class evenings
• Recordings which can be used when applying for competitions or grants or embarking on a career
• Radio plays
• Playback tapes for projects by the drama institute
• Contemporary compositions which have not yet been published
• Playback tapes of works by composition students

Seminars

Beside the wide range of recording opportunities, the sound studio offers practical seminars which make it possible for students to work there independently. Learning to work independently in the sound studio helps students quickly forget any nerves when making their own recordings and imbues them with confidence handling the technology.

Media Studio

This facility is an internet and media station which offers students the opportunity to learn multimedia work techniques. Lecturers and students collaborate here to create CD-ROM productions and web presentations. Students can use a practice and teaching studio with several internet workplaces as a “work station”. This PC pool can also be used for artistic and scientific work.

Any interested students can take part in the computer-oriented seminars. Subjects offered include how to create a homepage, how to carry out systematic internet research and how to create computer-supported music productions with notation and arrangements. An introductory course for multimedia technology is available for all disciplines. This course is obligatory for music education students.
