The Rostock University of Music and Drama (hmt) is a state university of the arts, funded by the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and public corporation. It trains approximately 550 students for careers in the fields of music, teaching of music and musicology as well as acting and the teaching of drama. Professor of Chamber Music for Strings W3 50%
The position is expected to be available as of winter semester 2023/2024.
We are seeking candidates who are internationally renowned artists.
Applicants are required to have gained a university degree in a stringed instrument or in the subject chamber music for strings from a music academy or university.
The holder of the position will represent the subject chamber music in both teaching and in the planning of and assignment to chamber music groups, in the organisation and realisation of artistic and educational projects, as well as interdisciplinary projects.Relevant teaching experience at a music academy or university is required.
Experience as an artist gained from several years of activity in a renowned chamber music ensemble will be appreciated.
The job specifications are defined in § 58 of the Landeshochschulgesetz - LHG M-V (State Higher Education Act). Appointments will be made in accordance with the provisions ruling the types of employment for professors as defined in § 61 LHG M-V. The State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and hmt Rostock advocate intense supervision of the students and therefore expect teaching staff to be present at the University on a regular basis. The future holder of the position will be expected to play an active role in university committees.
