Prof. Nikolay Borchev

The Russian baritone Nikolay Borchev sings his diverse repertoire, which stretches from the Baroque to the modern day, on all of the world’s major stages. Furthermore, he boasts a very broad Lieder and concert repertoire that includes not only cycles by Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Mahler, and Wolf, but also works by Mussorgsky, Ravel, and Shostakovich. He is a regular guest at major opera houses and festivals, including the Bavarian State Opera, the Cologne Opera, the La Monnaie Brussels, the Berlin State Opera, the Teatro Real Madrid, the Carnegie Hall New York, the Music@Menlo Festival, the Orchestre national de Lyon, the Wiener Musikverein, the Bozar Brussels and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. He is a lecturer at hmt Rostock and has been part-time professor at the Nuremberg University of Music since 2021.
