Violin | Henja Semmler

Having trained with Rainer Kussmaul, Thomas Brandis, and Gerhard Schulz, Henja Semmler was a prizewinner at the Louis Spohr Competition and the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb. She founded the Oberon Trio in 2006 with whom she played concerts at important concert halls and festivals and also performed with partners such as Tabea Zimmermann, Jörg Widmann, or Ian Bostridge. She was a founding member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. Henja has performed as guest-concertmaster of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Swedish Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and the Chamber Academy Potsdam. She became professor of violin at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna in 2018, before moving to the Rostock University of Music and Drama in 2023.
