Junga Müller-Lim
Junga Müller-Lim was born in Seoul, South Korea. After her bachelor’s degree in composition in Seoul, she absolved her master’s degree with Prof. Peter Manfred Wolf at the University of Music and Theater Rostock. She completed her studies in Rostock by passing her major composition exam with distinction in 2017.
Her composed works have been presented at the "Brücken" festival for contemporary music, in the studio of the Ostseezeitung, at the 43rd Pan Music Festival (composition competition of the "International Society of Contemporary Music") in Seoul, at the "Korean Music Festival in Germany" in Frankfurt, as well as on the radio by Deutschlandfunk and the NDR. She worked with ensembles like the Minguet Quartet, the modern art string quartet, the Ensemble Interface, the Ensemble Zafraan, the Philos Quartet, the Norddeutsche Philharmonie, the Neubrandenburg Philharmonie and the Orchestra of the University of Music and Theater Rostock.
Junga Müller-Lim received the Deutschlandstipendium, supported by the “Oscar and Vera Ritter Foundation”. She also received the “Caspar David Friedrich Scholarship” by the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Since 2017 she has been teaching as a lecturer in the field of music theory/aural training at the young academy rostock and in the field of music theory at the University of Music and Theater Rostock.
