Dr. Marit Fiedler

Since 2009, Marit Fiedler has been teaching as a speech trainer at hmt Rostock. Initially in Music Teaching, in the Bachelor's and Master's Singing in the Bachelor's and Master's Degree, in the Bachelor's Conducting and Accompaniment and, since 2014, also in the Master's degree in Theatre Education. Since 2019, she has been teaching speech training, primarily in the newly created Theatre Teacher Training programme. From April 2024 to March 2026, she was a scientific-artistic assistant in the field of theatre education in the third-party funded project Fokus Stimme at hmt Rostock, within the framework of which the method set "Psst! Making Theatre with Voice". From 2017 to 2020, she led the GeschichtenWerkstatt in the Mecklenburg church district and accompanied this project throughout Germany, including the Protestant Kirchentag 2019 in Dortmund. Also in 2019, she completed training as a Bible narrator.

She works freelance as a voice coach, rhetoric trainer, and storyteller. She works at various universities (Rostock and Greifswald) and technical colleges (Wismar, Neubrandenburg, Güstrow) in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, as well as for educational institutions, church institutions, and with people in professions that require a lot of speaking. Your lessons are inspired by the voice work of Jurij Vasiljev and Kristin Linklater and the movement work of the Talmi method and the Feldenkrais method.

Marit Fiedler studied speech science and phonetics as well as modern Hebrew at the Martin-Luther-University in Halle/Saale. She was able to learn Modern Hebrew as a volunteer in Israel even before her studies, which she continued during her studies. In her diploma and doctoral thesis, she compared Modern Hebrew and German in the field of segmental and suprasegmental phonetics. Her studies were supported by the Graduate Funding of the State of Saxony-Anhalt and by the DAAD.

She is a member of the German Society for Speech Science and Speech Education (DGSS), as well as the Central German Association for Speech Science and Speech Education (MDVS) and the Network for Vocal Health in the Teaching Profession. Together with Dr. Anna Schwenke, she initiated the 1st. SPREWICAMP in Warnemünde – a further education format for and by people from speech science and speech education.
