The Rostock University of Music and Drama invites prospective students, parents and teachers to the University Information Day. On Saturday, 31 January 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., you can find out all about studying at hmt Rostock and take part in a guided tour of the university building.

The "Open Day" begins with a general introduction to all degree programmes, the application process, admission requirements and the requirements for the aptitude tests. This will be followed by special advisory services for the Pop and World Music with Classical Music, Music Teacher Training, Theatre Teacher Training (Performing Arts), Instrumental Pedagogy and Drama degree programmes.

On the same weekend, the Deutscher Tonkünstlerverband M-V (DTKV) will also be organising an intensive music theory course to prepare students for the aptitude tests at German music universities.

The prerequisite for studying at hmt Rostock is passing an aptitude test. The application deadline for the music and teaching degree programmes starting in the winter semester 2026/27 is 15 April 2026, and 25 September 2026 for the drama degree programme starting in the summer semester 2027.
