Joint concert by the Malmö Academy Symphony Orchestra
The hmt Rostock is hosting the Malmö Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra. Together with music students from Rostock and Gdańsk, they will give a concert on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at 7.30 pm in the Katharinensaal. The programme features Emelie Mayer’s Faust Overture, Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G minor and Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7. Samuli Örnströmer will conduct.
As part of the state government of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania’s Baltic Sea Region Strategy, hmt Rostock has been cooperating closely with the Malmö Academy of Music since early 2025. The collaboration was initiated by the ANMA network (Assembly of Nordic Music Academies) and further strengthened by an initial meeting between the two rectors in September 2025 as part of the ERASMUS+ programme. There is a regular exchange of students and teaching staff between the two institutions. The Rostock concert will also be performed in Malmö on 11 May and in Gdańsk on 15 May.
Admission is €15.00 (concessions €10.00) plus a box office surcharge. Admission is free for students with a Kulturticket.
