Following a successful conference on the edition of film music in November 2024, the Erich Wolfgang Korngold Complete Works Edition is organising its second conference on 20 and 21 November 2026 – for the first time at the Rostock University of Music and Drama.

The link to the University of Music and the Rostock research centre’s focus on the composer’s instrumental works and Lieder – which also include his earliest compositions – suggest the chosen theme. Korngold, as a prominent example, is intended merely as a starting point for examining the early works of young composers, whilst also taking a critical look at musical virtuosity and its reception in the media.

Academics are invited to submit papers by 1 June.
