Lilit Grigoryan is an internationally acclaimed pianist, known for her exceptional expressiveness and clear, decisive musical language (Maria João Pires). The international press praises her interpretations as mature beyond her years (BBC Music Magazine) and celebrates her as a glimmer of hope in the field of interchangeable pianism (MDR Kultur).
As a soloist and chamber musician, she performs worldwide in leading concert halls such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Philharmonie de Paris, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, BOZAR Brussels, Palau de la Música Catalana, Auditorio Nacional de Música Madrid, and Halle aux Grains in Toulouse. She is regularly invited to renowned festivals including the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Verbier Festival, Krzyzowa Music Festival, and Festival d’Auvers-sur-Oise, and collaborates with artists such as Maria João Pires, Viviane Hagner, Claudio Bohórquez, Valeriy Sokolov, and Karolina Errera.
In addition to her concert activities, Grigoryan has released several highly acclaimed albums, including Sonata Facile (Berlin Classics, 2025), Música callada, and Variations sérieuses (Orchid Classics, 2021, 2018), as well as chamber music recordings with partners such as Sarah Christian and David Petersen. Her recordings have received numerous awards, including from Apple Music and rbb Radio 3, and reflect her wide-ranging repertoire from Baroque to contemporary music.
Lilit Grigoryan studied with Prof. Sergei Sarajyan in Yerevan and Prof. Matthias Kirschnereit at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock. She was also Artist in Residence at the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Belgium, where she was mentored by Maria João Pires. The pianist has been awarded the prestigious Culture Prize of the President of Armenia, won multiple prizes at international competitions, and is a Yamaha Artist.
Alongside her international career, Grigoryan is passionately dedicated to the education of young musicians. After working as a lecturer and artistic associate at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock and the Young Academy Rostock, she was appointed Professor of Piano at the hmt Rostock in December 2025, where she has been teaching since January 1, 2026. She has given masterclasses in Germany, Armenia, Luxembourg, England, Belgium, and Portugal; her students have won prizes at national and international competitions.
