COMPETITION RULES "HMT INTERDISCIPLINARY"

All students and learners enrolled at the hmt are eligible to participate, regardless of their nationality and length of study or training. The prerequisite for participation is the consent of the main subject teachers. First prize winners of the interdisciplinary hmt project prize can only take part in the competition a second time in a completely new formation consisting of other students.

Projects can be submitted by an individual student as the author, but it is recommended that a student team, which should not exceed six participants, develops and submits the project.

The project idea and its realisation must be based on the participation of at least two of the four university institutes and must originate from an exclusively student initiative. This applies to the idea itself as well as the rehearsals for the competition presentation.
Participation in only one project per competition year is possible.

The duration of a project must be a minimum of 40 minutes and a maximum of 50 minutes.

Each project is submitted by means of a detailed, written and/or multimedia exposé and thus bindingly registered for the competition. The exposé must indicate the content as well as the exact process, the duration, the technical requirements and the names of the participants as well as their exact function within the project. All students involved in a project must sign the synopsis, stating their institute affiliation.

They are thus obligated to actively participate in the competition presentation and, if applicable, the prize-winning presentation of the project they have submitted.

The production of the stage (props, images, etc.) is to be undertaken by the participants and is considered part of the project. Technical equipment and systems (lighting, sound etc.) are to be operated by the participants with the assistance of the technical staff or the sound studio manager.

On 2 and 3 April, the stage will be available for rehearsals, technical meetings and specifications. On these days, each project will be given limited rehearsal and set-up time. For initial technical arrangements and questions, participants can contact Mr Dudszus or Mr Evert in advance.

On the day of the competition presentation, each project will have the opportunity for a final rehearsal or a run-through rehearsal.

All participants are obliged to allow audio and video recordings free of charge during all phases of the competition. Copies of these recordings can be made at the request and expense of the participants.

Own audio and film recordings are prohibited.

All presentations are public.

Jury
As a rule, the jury consists of university lecturers from hmt. External jurors may also be appointed.
The jury works in accordance with the competition regulations.

Prizes
Three prizes, special prizes, certificates and diplomas of honour can be awarded.
Prizes may be split or not awarded.

Special prize for the best project idea
The jury will also decide whether to award a special prize for an outstanding project idea.

Registration / Admission
The following documents must be submitted:

  • One completed application form per project
  • Project synopsis, which must include the following points:

  • Brief synopsis (for the programme)
  • Curriculum vitae of all participants (in tabular form) in German
  • An application photo of all participants
  • student ID cards
