Stephan von Hoff
Stephan von Hoff studied at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin and completed his postgraduate studies at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) with the Konzertexamen in 1996. He received his first position as bassoonist at the Staatskapelle Schwerin during the 2nd semester of his studies. He has performed for the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock since 1994. His training was rounded off by attending various masterclasses and orchestra courses, held by e.g. S. Azzolini, A. Rinderspacher, A. Holder, and M. Werba.
Stephan von Hoff has been lecturer for bassoon, contrabassoon and Baroque bassoon at hmt Rostock since 1999.
In addition, Stephan von Hoff studied historical performance at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, under Christian Beuse. This was followed by positions with Musica Antiqua Cologne, the Collegium Cartusianum Cologne, the Lautten Compagney Berlin and Düsseldorfer Hofmusik. Concert tours with the ensembles Les Arts Florissants, Al Ayre Español, the Collegium 1704 and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin took him to most European countries.
Stephan von Hoff is a member of the ensembles Elbipolis Barockorchester Hamburg and the Festival Orchestra of the Göttingen International Handel Festival.
