Master's Course Opera Studio

Singing at a theatre, preparation for your career

Course Profile

The master’s degree course Opera Studio aims to provide practice-oriented training to vocal soloists. This is achieved by the collaboration between hmt Rostock and the theatres in Schwerin, Rostock, Vorpommern and Neustrelitz. Throughout the standard length of study, students take on vocal parts in theatre productions and receive accompanying tuition in their major subject at the university. They are also able to attend courses that help them to prepare for their future profession. A corresponding agreement is signed between the students and the cooperating theatre, which determines appropriate remuneration for expenses.

Who is the degree course for?

The degree course is aimed at students with an undergraduate degree in the subject Singing or a related subject, who would like to attend a strongly practice-oriented degree course to prepare themselves for a position as a vocal soloist at a theatre company.
